Jerdon First Class CM21W 4 Cup Thermal Coffee Maker

Jerdon First Class CM21W 4 Cup Coffee Maker, Thermal Carafe, WhiteA full pot takes about 5 minutes to brew and immedieate clean up takes seconds. Jerdon First Class CM21W 4 Cup Thermal Coffee Maker holds a maximum of 22 oz. of water. Smaller batches brew with equal consistency in taste. Small pictures and words on top take the place of a user manual and are easy enough to follow. No starter coffee filters are included. The poured coffee isn't as hot as I'd like it to be. This could be out of concern for guests or scalding lawsuits. Adding chilled cream to a 12 oz. ceramic cup brought the temp down almost too quickly. The non heated insulated carafe won't keep half a pot hot for too long. I do however like the simple design that helps make it go away on my counter top. The coffee tastes great too, tho I'm not a coffee guru.

Melitta "cup" type filters allow the water to pool in the cup so as to take a good 5 minutes after brewing to stop dripping. This causes a drip cleanup on the base when you pour.

This unit was never meant for anything but coffee pouches. 4 times out of 5, the weight of the wet coffee grinds #2 cone paper filters result in a collapsed cone and spilled grinds.

I now use only the costlier round Maxwell House 2-4 cup brew pouches. These fit perfectly and the coffee brews correctly. I'm looking for refillable round pouches. Not found any.

The simple "blend into the counter top" design (important to some), ease of use, and great tasting coffee is why I don't regret buying this Hotel/Motel type coffee maker. I strongly recommend ppl use round type coffee pouches. My coffee costs more (per cup) to brew this way, but I like the convenience factor.
